6/14/17 - This is a Remington model 1903-A4 sniper rifle. The rifle is marked "03-A3", but this is known as the A4, because of the offset stamp on the receiver. The rifle comes with a commercial Weaver 330 scope, (commercial meaning there is no serial on the scope). The barrel is stamped "RA" with a flaming ordnance bomb stamp and May 1943 date stamp. The barrel band has some minor surface wear. The bore has some interior wear and residue, but nothing that would render the rifle unfirable or unfunctional. The rifling is still in good shape, and a thorough cleaning would help. The 330 Weaver scope has some surface wear and bluing loss, but the optics are excellent and crisp. The receiver and bolt both appear to be phosphate, and in great condition. There is some minor surface "browning" or discoloration in some small areas, but this is normal wear. The bolt action is smooth and fully functional. The wood stock is unmarked, with no inspector stamps or cartouche stamps. However, the stock seems period-correct and unsanded. Priced accordingly, and guaranteed original and authentic from WW2.
