6/22/17 - This is an original M1 Garand Rifle rebuilt in the early 1950s, and stamped by the last known Springfield Armory Inspector "Col. James L. Guinon". This is the last named inspector stamp and adds a unique collectible quality to this rifle. Included with this rifle is a letter by Bruce Canfield (Author and M1 expert), as well as a signed document by collector L.A. Rich Jr. which both explain the story of this collectible rifle. The rifle was built in 1943 and later sent back to Springfield in 1951 to be cleaned and repaired. A 5-51-SA barrel was installed as well as the "J.L.G." stamped replacement stock. There are both WW2 original and post war parts on this rifle. The weapon is in excellent condition overall with no major flaws. The bore is gorgeous with no issues whatsoever. The wood is also beautiful with very minimal wear. Guaranteed original and authentic.
