12/22/22 - This is an excellent example of a rare zero series Spreewerk P.38. These were made at the end of production in 1945 and were likely issued to the Volkssturm militia. It is a rare variation as only about 4,700 were ever made. They are characterized by having "U" proof marks throughout. This one has those proofs and is all matching. it comes with a nice, period-correct jvd magazine. This has a Russian-capture post war finish - extremely common for these guns. There is virtually no wear at all. Excellent grips. Excellent bore - shiny with strong rifling. De-cocker is functional. The slide has a little trouble staying back with the jvd mag in it.
