7/17/19 - This is a rare PDM Walther PP, manufactured around 1935. The pistol is all correct and original, and the bluing rates at about 85% with the majority of finish loss found on the straps, as well as some natural slide wear. In 1935, Himmler ordered about 1800 PDM marked PP's as head of all German Internal Security. PDM stands for Police Department of Munich, and the order was unique for the following reasons. These pistols came with a bottom release magazine, while all other 7.65mm PP's had a push button mag release. The proper PDM magazine will have no notch for the push button release, which the magazine in this listing shows. These pistols also have a strengthened 'fluted' barrel, visible on the muzzle end of the barrel, which a standard PP slide would not fit. This pistol falls in the correct serial range. Excellent bore. Left grip panel has a crack near the edge, and finger extension has a few dings and nicks.
