2/25/21 - This is a rare early Walther P.38, marked and known as the Mod HP or M/39, that was part of the second Swedish contract order for these pistols. There were only about 500 of this variant produced, all in April of 1940. It is all matching, but the barrel was re-numbered. It could have been done in the period, but we can't say for sure. This pistol has very nice, early high polish finish that rates around 95%. The condition is somewhat difficult to grade as there are many very tiny surface scratches on the slide, which is surprisingly common on these guns. There's also light finish loss on the edges of the slide and some handling marks on the front strap. A few scratches on the top plate. It comes with original and correct grips and a WW2-era magazine. The bore is minty. The de-cocker is not functional.
