SOLD - Rare Transitional Nambu Type 14
12/2/15 - This is a rarely seen variant of a Large Trigger Guard T14 Nambu pistol, made at the Kokobunji factory, and is also known as a Nagoya Nambu T14, as the Colonel Nambu(the inventor of T14) himself had a stake in a newly established factory that functioned under Nagoya arsenal supervision. Starting in September of 1939, (14.9), all T14s were equipped with a large trigger guard in order to accommodate a gloved hand. The first 5000 or so pistols were not yet equipped with the magazine retention spring on the front grip strap and are considered to be an uncommon transitional variant. This is one of the earliest known Transitional T14, that retains about 95% of its original blue with some freckling here and there and some minimal holster wear as per pictures. It is all matching (except magazine)with excellent bore and grips. It is dated 14.9 on the right side of the frame. All markings are sharp. The grips are correctly unnumbered as most were during this period. A very nice example of hard to find variation.
