12/1/17 - This is an excellent and potentially very rare M1 Carbine made by Saginaw.  Saginaw Gear only made about 8% of the total carbines in WW2 and gained two locations when they took over the Irwin Pedersen Arms Co.   They used Underwood barrels, and this one has the date of June, 1943.  Also marked with a flaming bomb and P.   The stock is excellent with the exception of a "ding" on the forward left side.  Under the strap is the RSG mark for Saginaw Gear, but also a USN mark.  Along with this, the receiver is marked UNITED STATES NAVY, but it's mostly obscured by the stock until you take the gun apart.   Have not seen this before, and we don't know when the mark would've been applied.  There are various small parts marked IP as they were left over Irwin Pedersen parts. These include the safety button and rear site.  Many other parts are marked S'G' including the Magazine.  Excellent and all original finish.  Bore is pretty shiny with strong rifling.  Very little muzzle wear.
