8/25/22 - This is a rare and interesting Remington Rand 1911A1 with crest on top of the slide indicating issue or presentation to the Mexican Navy. The crest reads "Armada de Mexico" and shows an eagle holding a snake in its mouth with crossed naval anchors in its talons. We were unable to find much information on this variation, with just a few similar examples previously shown/offered on the internet. The marking does appear aged similarly to the slide and does appear to match the other examples. The finish on the pistol is original but there is pitting in various areas, especially on the slide. Original HS barrel. 'L' marked magazine that also has pitting throughout. The bore has fair rifling but there is some pitting and frost throughout.
