7/14/17 - This is a 1934-36 contract Persian Artillery luger rig, manufactured by Mauser for the Shah of Iran, and one of only an estimated 1,000 produced!  This is a standard 1914 model artillery that is designated by collectors as a 1934 Mauser contract.  The script on the right side of the slide says 'Pistol Model 1314' in Farsi, which would refer to 1935 on our calendar, as Persia adopted the date of the flight of Mohamed as year one.  The toggle link reads 'Mauser' in Farsi, and the serial is 3626, as seen in all the normal locations for German contract artillery lugers.  The left side of the slide also shows a crown property mark.  All small parts are matching, though the magazine is off by about a hundred digits and the stock is off by a little as well.  The finish on this pistol is about 95-96%, with most of the wear on the sideplate and the left side of the muzzle, but the straw also rates above 90%.  The pistol comes with an artillery holster, stock, mag pouch and cleaning rod.  Both the cleaning rod and holster are 'Iran' marked, leading me to believe these pieces are original and correct for this luger.  The stock is also numbered in Farsi but does not match the pistol.  The bore is excellent, with strong rifling.  A rare piece that would be hard to upgrade!
