7/14/20 - This is a super rare Mauser Banner Luger that was made in 1940 as part of an undelivered Dutch contract that was confiscated by the German authorities after the invasion of Holland. These pistols were later diverted to the German military and have standard acceptance proofs on the right side of the receiver. This is a third variation example, one of only 600 produced! Aside from serial range, these pistols can also be identified by the 'RUST' marking over the safety. This particular example is all matching but was re-blued at some point. About 95-97% of that refinished bluing remains, with a few minor areas of freckling under the blue. Mint bore. The grips are unmarked but fit very well. They show some notable handling wear and smoothing. The magazine is period original but mismatched.
