5/2/17 - Excellent looking Bulgarian luger with the Bulgarian crest on the receiver. Finish looks all original as it looks excellent but aged with patina.   As referenced in Jan Still's Central Powers Pistols, there were only about 1,500 of these produced, with serials from 1-1500.  Compare that to the 1908 Bulgarian, which total 10,000!  They are very rare and usually quite worn, but this one looks excellent - however it could be an old re-blue, just not 100% sure on this one.  Some were sent back to the arsenal after WW1 to be re-furbished and I'm not sure if this one was.  Serial number is 1058 and all numbered parts are matching with the exception of the blank bottom magazine.  The grips are also unnumbered but the are clearly original and fit perfectly.   Interior of the frame is properly in the white as is the receiver.   Hold open and firing pin are unnumbered which I believe is correct.   Straw parts are about 60% and look to be all original.   Comes in 30 caliber luger - 100 MM barrel length.  Bore is shiny and strong.   The gun seems consistently to have little use.   No lug stock on the back of the frame (correct for the gun).   Overall a nice example of a hard to find Bulgarian contract luger.
