8/6/20 - This is a very nice example of an all original, unaltered 1908 DWM Bulgarian contract Luger pistol, and it still has the original, matching magazine! This is the first we've sold or had come through the office with the matching numbered magazine. There were exactly 10,000 of these pistols ordered by Bulgaria in the 1908-10 time frame. This specific pistol falls into the second block of serial numbers as it has the small letter "c" suffix. These are a very difficult example to obtain in original unaltered condition (such as this example) as they saw heavy use in both the WWI and WW2, having been rebuilt at least once or twice by DWM. The chamber is marked with the DWM scroll monogram and unique Bulgarian Crest on top of the front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension is stamped with a single "Bulgarian Rampant Lion" acceptance/proof mark with no other acceptance proofs. The lower safety lever area is marked "FIRE" and the left side of the extractor is marked "LOADED" both in Cyrillic lettering. The pistol has all matching numbers with about 87-90% blue remaining. There's finish loss on muzzle and sideplate, and the rest of the finish loss is on the straps. Some of the small parts still have a good portion of the straw remaining. Bore is pretty clean with strong rifling. Grips are unmarked and show minor areas of smoothing. Pistol comes with an original holster with cleaning rod present. NOTE: Numbering on the sideplate is a little different so it's possible it was renumbered but we aren't certain on that. A close-up photo has been added.
