4/22/20 - This is a rare and desirable 1917 Navy DWM Luger. All matching numbers except for the magazine, which is a correct Navy mag. Excellent finish with minor high edge wear, and bit of thinning on the left side of the frame. About 80% of the original straw remains. It has the correct Navy "flanged" rear toggle pin. The finish show the typical Navy "salt air" pinpricking over the finish. This was listed at Morphy's auctions some time ago as a "restored gun", but clearly - especially on the frame we can see corrosion over the finish. Also, straw parts show no sign of restoration. The only thing I could possibly question would be the barrel. I see small halos on the serial under the barrel (evidence that it is original finish) but the color of the finish is slightly darker than the frame. But, I cannot say with any certainty that this has been touched up, and there's no signs of cold blue. Bore is shiny with minor frost.
