2/20/17 - This is a very nice Browning High Power that was produced for use by the German army during WWII in 1943. The a-suffix serial number, with WaA140 proofs, dates this pistol's production to mid or late 1943. This second sub variant of the WaA140 fixed sight pistols was produced from serial range 1a to 99999a. The pistol has about 96% of its original finish, with most of the wear on the left side of the slide near the muzzle, but beautiful straps. The quality of finish on these pistols appears to have varied based on the individual polisher, as finely polishing became less of a focus as the war went on. The finish here is a nice high-polish, however. The magazine is WaA140 marked faintly on the spine. Bore is excellent.
