2/6/20 - This Paratrooper Carbine came out of a very old collection and is one of the nicest we have seen. It is an Inland M1-A1, Type II (second run) with all correct features. Only about 140,000 of the paratrooper variation were ever made - all by Inland. This gun is in the proper serial range for the 2nd run, and there were only about 2,700 Paratrooper Carbines delivered in July of 1944 (5,390,xxx serial range). It has the low wood stock, adjustable rear site and the type 4 front barrel band. This gun also has the round top bolt which started in the 5 million range. The action is all Inland and excellent. Excellent bore as well. What makes this gun so nice is the stock. It is correct walnut and in superior condition. Only slight handling marks. The right side of the handguard has the proper cartouche and the bottom of the handguard is properly marked RI/3. There is no P on the stock as this was discontinued in 1943. The handguard is properly marked IO on the inside. Again this is an all correct and original Type 2 paratrooper carbine from July of 1944. Comes with proper WW2 cotton sling and Inland made 15 round magazine. Best quality M-1A1 we have ever offered.
