10/6/20 - This is a mint example of a Colt 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1943. It is "US Property" marked and has a cross-canon cartouche on the tang. The slide is numbered and matches the frame. This gun has retained about 99% of its original finish. The only sign of wear is a few very light surface marks here and there. There is also a light scratch from someone removing the takedown lever. Mint original grips. PLEASE NOTE: the gun is photographed with a post-war magazine. We've replaced it with a nice period-correct magazine. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn, there is pin-pricking throughout, and one small area of pitting.
