7/18/24 - This is a later WW2 production M42 Single Decal Heer Army Helmet. The helmet is in very good overall condition with an original leather chinstrap and liner attached. The army decal on the exterior is mostly worn, with around 15-20% of the decal still visible. The helmet exterior also shows normal surface patina and mild discoloration. No dents or structural issues, and all original rivets intact. The shell interior has a faint maker and size stamp on the left side that's difficult to read. We can tell the first letter is "E", for "E.F." (Emaillerwerke A.G.), and the last digit is a "2", for size "62". The back visor is lot numbered "1622", but the 2nd digit is faint. Overall these faint, somewhat crudely stamped markings are indicative of late-war production. The leather chinstrap is in great overall condition, completely intact but there is one small rip beginning to form on the right side (shown in photos). The leather liner has scuffing and general wear / weakness around the top bend or rounded portion of the headband leather. Ink stamped size "55". Initials "J.K." handwritten on the leather. Interior shell crown is fairly clean.
