7/12/17 - This is a WW2 rebuilt M1A1 Carbine rifle, also known as a partrooper M1 Carbine. The parts are all original, however the serial number of this carbine indicates this was part of the "second run" of M1A1 carbines. These were produced beginning in April of 1944. This carbine however, has a 1943 dated barrel, which indicates that this was perhaps a late 1944, or 1945 arsenal rebuild. There is a bayonet lug and adjustable rear sight. The metal parts are all in excellent conditoin with a clean phosphate finish. The receiver and barrel are proper inland parts. The rear sight is also properly stamped "PI" from inland. The barrel band is stamped "AMCO". The wood stock is original and in excellent condition with no major issues. Ther is the typical indent from the folding stock on the left side of the wood. The right side of the wood has a faint, yet unaltered cartouche stamp. The bore is excellent and shiny with very little to no wear. The shoulder strap is post war, as it doesn't have the "C" shaped metal ends. The magazine is stamped "O SG".
