9/16/22 - This is a nice example of a German Private Purchase Commercial Model 83 Reichsrevolver from the early 1900's. This revolver melds several features from other successful handguns such as the grip from a Smith and Wesson Russian Model, the shell extracting system from a Webley Revolver, a double-action trigger, safety, and innovative "peep hole" which allows the shooter to see whether the primer on the upcoming round has already been struck. Crown/U proof marks indicate German production, and low serial number indicates a very low overall production number. All matching. Most of the bluing is completely gone except for on the barrel. Areas of spotty oxidation and some areas of pitting on the frame and cylinder. Comes with nice wood grips. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling.
