8/28/17 - This is a unique and somewhat rare P.38 variation from late WW2. The pistol is Walther made AC44 - straight line, but has a frame that was made by the FN factory in Belgium.  It is properly Eagle 140 proofed on the frame and Eagle 359 (Walther factory) proofed everywhere else. The slide, frame, barrel and locking block are matching. This pistol has the correct mid-war grips and a wartime magazine that is both Walther and Spreewerke proofed. Now for the only negative: This gun had a "dipped" finish (a dark dip that the Russians used to preserve their captured guns). We had the dip removed as well as could be done without hurting the original finish.  What we have left is the original finish that is a bit darker than ususal.    The spring are all clean - "in the white", as is the locking block. The bore is very nice - shiny and clean lines.   There is NO Russian X or any import marks on this gun.  Many of these were brought into the US by Doug Smith of FGS back about 10 years ago, from former East German.   He didn't import mark them and has since passed away.   So, overall a tough find.
