3/20/2023 - This is a fantastic example of a Smith & Wesson Model 39-2. It has nearly all of its original nickeled finish, with just some minor usage wear. Terrific bore with very minimal signs of use. Fitted with a set of excellent hand-checkered Walnut grips, with only a couple of minor scratches on the right panel. The Smith & Wesson Model 39 is a semi-automatic pistol developed for the United States Army service pistol trials of 1954. After the Army abandoned its search for a new pistol, the Model 39 went on the civilian market in 1955 and was the first of Smith & Wesson's first generation semi-automatic pistols. Anodized aluminum frame with steel slide and curved backstrap. The 39-2 variant was produced from 1970-82 and added several improvements to improve feeding and increase reliability. Serial dates this one to the mid 1970s. Comes with a total of three magazines. Small import mark on underside of mag well.
