5/22/20 - This is an excellent example of the desirable Colt Model 1902 pistol, that was manufactured in 1909 for issue to the US military. There were only ~18,000 of this model produced, all between 1902 and 1928. The military model can be distinguished by the rectangular shape to the frame, swivel lanyard loop on frame, and the additional cartridge capacity in their magazines. This model was chambered for .38 ACP, and is very similar in design to the innovative M1900. This particular example has nice case hardening on the hammer and excellent fire blue on the trigger, and retains about 95-96% of the original, high-polish blue. There is minimal actual finish loss on the gun, but the left side of the slide appears to have gotten exposed to a little moisture, and as a result, there is an obvious area of freckling that is mostly smooth to the touch. Excellent, original grips. Terrific bore.
