8/2/22 - This is an excellent example of a rare Remington Model 1907-15 Berthier Rifle, chambered in 8mm Lebel. Remington made fewer than 100,000 Model 1907-15 Berthier rifles for the French in WWI. Some were delivered and accepted by France. They can be identified by the serial number, which the French added. The majority of the remaining rifles were bought by the U.S. government and used to train and equip several regiments of the U.S. African American soldiers who fought with, and were commanded by, the French. This one has no serial number, so it was likely never delivered to the French. This one has a 31" barrel and straight bolt. The bluing on the gun is excellent with most of the wear on the trigger group. Excellent bore with strong rifling. Very nice stock with small handling marks throughout but no major issues. Comes with a sling.
