3/30/17 - This is a very early - one of the earliest we have ever offered - Japanese Nambu. It was made in October of 1929. This is a bit before Japan's militaristic rise and therefore there were far smaller production numbers in these early years.  The serial puts this one as one of the last of the small trigger guard variations produced at Nagoya Army Arsenal. This one is in much better condition than most of the early guns.   Remember, they are an island nation and much of their military time was spent on the seas in transport.  The original finish on this gun is about 96%, with remarkably little corrosion or pitting.   Straps are nice with just some browning (patina) in the finish.  The grips are hand numbered to the gun - however, you would be hard pressed to read it.  All numbered parts are matching including the original magazine.  The bore is shiny and strong.  I would rate it an 8 out of 10. The gun has all the correct early features including the grips and the small trigger guard.
