10/2/17 - There were few Simson Lugers made than Krieghoffs, and while the finish on this one at first looks to be 99% all original and in excellent condition, we believe it to be a beautiful restoration upon closer inspection.  All matching numbers with all parts having the required Eagle/6 proofs, all the way down to the grip screws.  Even the grips are fully numbered to the gun as well as the magazine.   Bottom of the frame has the 2 E/6 proofs - all as it should be.  Toggle has the correct Simspon logo on it with no date on the receiver.  One of the "tells" on the restoration is the fact that it is UNIT marked but that marking is blued over.  Unit is somewhat faint but is N. Za. K.8 - not sure of its meaning.   There is tiny pinpricking oxidation over top of the finish so the restoration must have been done many years ago.  Excellent diamonds on the grips. Bore shows signs of minor wear, but no major flaws.
