2/7/24 - This is a scarce example of a very late 1942 Colt 1911A1 with GHD inspector's mark. This would be one of the earliest examples demonstrating the switch of inspectors, as this one shipped on December 18th of 1942. Proper Colt barrel with 'G' under lug, and slide is matching numbered to the frame. The original finish rates in the 80-85% range with wear along the front edges of the slide and frame, the underside of the slide, the trigger guard, and along the top of the slide. Bore shows some wear to the rifling and some frost/freckling throughout. Scoville magazine. Nice grips with only minor smoothing on the left panel.
