11/17/23 - This is a commercial S&W Revolver from 1899. These were made in both police and military models, but this example is commercial. The revolver comes with original factory nickel finish throughout, with a case hardened trigger and hammer. Incredible condition considering its age. There's some micro-scratches on the nickel finish, as well as a few light areas of speckling patina , especially around the heel of the frame, front and back grip straps. No glaring issues however, and with smooth action and tight lockup. The pistol is highlighted with rare "mother of pearl" grips and comes in .38 special. The bore is shiny with strong rifling, we rate 8/10. Double action. 6.5 inch barrel.
