10/1/24 - This is an early DWM Luger from 1911, before the addition of the stock lug to the frame or a hold-open. This one is all matching and has the proper Imperial German proofs. There is a portion of the front strap where it looks like the original finish was stripped and touched up. There is no evidence there was ever a unit marking there that was ground, so it's hard to imagine why someone may have done this. In any case, there is some finish loss on the front strap, general high edge wear, muzzle wear, and some discoloration on the side plate. Some pin-pricking along the left side of the barrel. Fitted with very nice matching-numbered wood grips and comes with an un-numbered magazine. The bore has decent rifling, but there is light pitting in the grooves.
