10/1/24 - This is a very nice example of a Colt Model 1911 that was reworked at an arsenal, likely for re-issue in WW2. The frame was made by Colt and dates to 1918. Also has a WWI-era Colt barrel. The slide is a WW2-era Remington Rand replacement. There is an "AA" marking on the left side of the frame, indicating it was reworked at the Augusta Arsenal. The entire gun has a parkerized WW2 finish with virtually no signs of wear. Fitted with checkered wood grips. Very nice bore. It comes as a rig with a "US" marked holster and a WW2 "S" marked magazine.
