3/16/23 - This is a rare Walther P.38 with 480 code on slide and frame. The 480 code pistols were the first serially produced P.38s made by Walther. There were only 7,300 produced, and this one has the earlier, round lanyard ring. It is all matching and has the proper "Eagle 359" military acceptance proofs throughout. It has retained about 94% of its original finish. There is minor muzzle wear, wear around the high edges of the slide, and an area on the left side of the slide with finish loss and pin-pricking. Some light scratches on the front strap. Excellent matching-numbered and waffen-proofed grips. It does come with a period-correct numbered magazine that is mismatched to the gun. Minty bore. De-cocker is not functional.
