12/1/22 - This is a very nice example of a Walther PP issued to the SS in 1940. It is in the proper serial range for a Third Variation, 2nd Contract SS pistol (according to Tom's "SS Contract Walther PP/PPK" Book. Unfortunately, it does not come with a matching-numbered magazine. It does, however, come with a #1 magazine that is only 3 serial numbers away! It also comes with a spare un-numbered wartime magazine and an excellent black leather Akah holster, which is correct for an SS-issued pistol (great Walther PP ink stamp on the inside). The gun itself has retained about 95% of its original high polish finish. There is minor wear around the muzzle and along the high edges of the slide. Minor spotty wear and freckling on the grip straps. While there isn't a ton of actual finish loss, there are areas of minor spotty oxidation and pin-pricking along both sides of the slide. Comes with excellent period-correct black bakelite grips. There is a name very lightly scratched into the bottom edges of the grip panels and what looks like a date on the butt of the frame. Minty bore.
