12/1/22 - This is a rare Spanish Llama Model 1 that was imported by Geco into Germany in 1943. Whittington's book on German pistol estimates only about 1,000 were sold in Germany! What makes this pistol particularly interesting is the "Geco" trademark stamped on the right side of the frame. This indicates that the pistol was marketed in Germany by Gustav Genschow & Co., Hamburg. Like most commercial pistols available in Germany during the war, this pistol would have been sold to a member of the German armed forces or one of the few "approved" German civilians or Nazi Party members. The GC proof on the right side indicates it was originally made for the Spanish Civil Guard, or 'Guardia Civil'. The pistol is all original with 93% blue remaining. The majority of the wear is around the muzzle and around the high edges of the slide. Some very light spotty wear on the front strap and underside of the trigger. One noticeable spot of discoloration around the ejection port. Fitted with very nice wood grips. The gun comes as a rig with a WW2-era green leather Beretta holster (fits the gun well) and two proper magazines. Minty bore.
