11/23/22 - This is a very nice example of a Rock Island Arsenal Model 1903 rifle originally issued to the US military in 1917. The gun was then reworked for re-issue during WW2, as evidenced by Springfield Arsenal replacement barrel dated September of 1942. The stock was replaced and has an extremely faint "P" proof on the wrist. Overall, the gun is in very nice condition. There is almost no actual finish loss, but there are some areas of minor pitting and oxidation on the receiver. Excellent wood stock with just a few tiny handling marks here and there. Mint bore.
