11/20/23 - This one is hard to explain but here goes: The frame and the slide are 2 different finishes yet the number inside the slide matches the frame. The slide is a high polish blue as it should be in an early (Crown N) PP. The finish definitely looks to be original. The frame is a dull, late war finish in style but was refinished. Comes with wartime grips and 9m/m marked magazine. So while the gun was originally made in 1937, the frame and the parts seem to have been given a "make over" after 1943. 9MM is a rare caliber for a wartime Walther. The gun functions and will shoot well however the hold open does not keep the slide back after the last round is fired. The bore is shiny with strong rifling, but there is a slight bulge in the barrel.
