5/5/22 - This is an excellent example of a made-up M1A1 Paratrooper that was assembled from various parts. The receiver was made by Saginaw and dates to late 1943. The barrel was also made by Saginaw. The front sight is labeled "RIA", and the underside of the wood grip is marked "RI". It has a characteristic paratrooper folding stock, bayonet lug, and an "HI" marked adjustable rear sight. There is a faint "AAH" arsenal marking on the left side of the stock. The stock appears to have been sanded and finished with a thin layer of lacquer. Comes with a period-correct magazine and an excellent reproduction canvas carrying case. Overall, the gun is in excellent condition. There is some minor thinning and some small dots of oxidation along the barrel. A couple of scratches on the left side of the stock. Mint bore.
