10/19/20 - This is a very nice example of a 1943 Colt 1911A1 that was part of the British Lend Lease program between the US and England during WW2. The slide is numbered and matches the frame. It is "US Property" marked and has the proper "GHD" inspector initials. There are British proofs on the frame, slide, and barrel. It has retained around 93-94% of its original finish. While there isn't much actual finish loss, there are areas of splotchy discoloration on the slide and frame, most noticeable on the right side. There is minor wear around the muzzle, on the high edges of the slide, and a few small areas on the front strap. Comes with excellent period-correct grips and a period-correct, "R" marked magazine. The bore has decent rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout.
