7/17/19 - This is a nice example of an original WW1 Eddystone Model 1917 Rifle, manufactured in July of 1918. The gun also comes with a Remington bayonet, dated 1913. The bayonet fits the gun properly, but from research, it was originally designed to accompany the British Enfield P14 Rifle. This makes sense because Enfield also manufactured the Model 1917 Rifle. Its condition matches the gun. Both the metal finish and wooden stock on the gun appear to be original. Overall, the gun is in nice condition. Most of the finish on the metal parts is in tact, with significant wear on the the bolt handle and on the back edges of the receiver. There is also very minor pin-pricking on the receiver throughout. There is a flaming bomb and eagle head marking on the left side of the receiver. The barrel is marked with a flaming bomb and July, 1918 manufacture date. The trigger assembly is also marked with an eagle head proof. The wood stock is generally in decent condition. There are, however, small nicks and surface scratches throughout. The left side of the stock is marked "RA-P". The bolt action is smooth and fully functional. The bore is in decent condition. It has strong rifling but has frosting throughout, 6/10. C&R eligible.
