2/23/22 - This is a nice example of a scarce Colt Model 1903 revolver issued to the US military in 1904. The gun is all matching, dated "1904" on the left side of the frame, has "J.E.H." military inspection initials on the left side of the frame, and is marked "R.A.C." on the left side of the frame and on each of the bottom edges of the grip panels. It has retained roughly 60% of its original high polish bluing. There is somewhat spotty wear throughout concentrated on the barrel, top strap, cylinder, and grip straps. Light brown patina and spotty oxidation on both sides of the frame. Areas of spotty oxidation and pin-pricking throughout, most noticeable on the grip straps. There is a series of tiny dings on the front sight and one noticeable ding on the underside of the barrel. The grips are hand-numbered on the inside but do not match the gun. There are small bruises throughout and a couple of more noticeable gouges on the right side. Original lanyard loop intact. The cylinder is tight and the action is smooth. Minty bore.
