4/11/19 - This is a very nice, collectible WW1 model 1909 Springfield Bolo knife. These were made as a revolutionary "dual purpose" military bayonet to be used for both combat and utility. We believe this is a type II variation, complete with the original sheath. The leather sheath is maker stamped on the back of the leather with what looks like could be "LADEW" but we're not sure since there's a light scratch that runs over the first few letters. The scabbard has normal aging and cracking but is all in tact and original. The blade is dark and discolored towards the tip - as shown in photos. No signs of sharpening but there are light scratches especially towards the base that indicate use. There's honest wear throughout, but overall a very nice collectible piece.
