12/28/21 - This is a nice example of a National Postal Meter M1 Carbine issued to the US military in 1943-44. A complete list of the parts and their markings is included in the photos. The gun comes with a post-war magazine, oiler, and a post-war green canvas sling. A bayonet lug and adjustable rear sight have been added, likely for use during the Korean War. Import mark on the underside of the barrel. There is a "GHD" inspection proof and cross-canon military cartouche on the right side of the stock. Overall, the gun is in nice condition. There is wear around the high edges in general. Minor thinning, some light handling marks, and some spotty oxidation along the barrel. The stock has dents, dents, and bruises throughout. There appears to be a small wood repair on the left side of the butt stock. The bore is mint. Note: The slide locks back automatically with this magazine.
