12/17/21 - This is a minty example of a Walther PP sold in the commercial market in 1939-40. The gun is all matching and has the proper "Crown N" commercial proofs. This one is also marked "H.J. Harms, Bremen, Beim stein Kreuz" on the right side of the slide. HJ Harms was a private retailer in Germany in the 1940's. The rest of the marking loosely translates to "At the Stone Cross". From research, we believe this to be a street name, dedicated to a stone cross memorial in the town center of Bremen, Germany. The store where this PP was sold, H.J. Harms, was likely located on this street. This gun has retained about 97% of its original finish. Most of the finish loss is at the base of the back strap, where there is also some spotty dark discoloration. There are a few small dots of wear on the front strap and just hints of wear on some of the high edges. Comes with excellent black bakelite grips and a period-correct Walther banner-only finger extension magazine. The bore is near-mint.
