5/19/22 - This is a nice example of a Springfield Krag Model 1898, manufactured in 1899. Overall, it is in nice condition. It has retained most of its original bluing, but there is thinning on the receiver and finish loss on the barrel band and trigger guard. There is heavy brown patina on the whole barrel and spotty patina on the whole receiver and magazine. The gun is fully functional and the action is buttery-smooth. The stock is marked with a "P" proof and has the proper inspector initials on the left side. It is in very nice condition except for some minor dings and dents. The rifling in the bore is slightly worn with minor pitting throughout.
