10/5/21 - This is a nice example of a first-variation AC 42 Walther P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1942. This one comes with one original matching magazine. The gun is all matching and has the proper "Eagle 359" military acceptance proofs throughout, even on the small parts. It has retained roughly 85% of its bluing. Most of the finish loss is on the front strap and underside of the trigger guard where there are also a few small dots of patina. There is wear on the very front edges of the slide, around the muzzle, and on the top plate. There is spotty wear on the whole right side of the slide and some on the barrel. A few tiny scratches/handling marks here and there. Comes with excellent brownish bakelite grips that are "Eagle 359"-proofed. The bore has good rifling with spotty freckling throughout. De-cocker is functional. The slide has trouble locking back on its own. There is a lot of dried grease in the internals. A good cleaning may help with the problem.
