12/14/18 - This is an original WW2 nazi leather overcoat. These overcoats have been seen on historic nazi figureheads such as Heinrich Himmler (see final photo). This leather overcoat is heavy and in excellent condition given its' age. The shoulder boards are for an SS-Obergruppenführer (three star general). Upon a few expert opinions we don't believe these are original, and have adjusted the price accordingly. The leather has some normal signs of use and light discoloration in a few areas, as shown in photos. There's also one small area of stitching that appears repaired, but almost all of the original stitching is in tact. All original buttons are in tact and in great condition as well. The overall length of the coat is 57 inches. Shoulder width is about 19 inches. The arms / sleeves are about 25 inches each. There are no tags that I could find to indicate maker or sizing. The shoulder boards, collar tabs and eagle insignia are post war reproduction - they were put on by the previous owner to "complete the look" but can easily be removed if desired. Everything else is guaranteed original and authentic.
