11/30/21 - This .22 Caliber Birmingham Small Arms Air Rifle was manufactured between 1919 and 1936 in Birmingham, England. At least 50k of these guns were made. Powered by a large spring in the breech which is cocked by an under-barrel lever, a .22 cal. pellet is loaded through a port in the top of the barrel and fired. An adjustment screw on left of receiver adjusts velocity from low to high. Overall, this example is in nice condition. There is some wear around the muzzle and spotty finish loss on the chamber. While there isn't a ton of actual finish loss, there is heavy brown patina and pin-pricking throughout. The wood stock is excellent with a few very minor handling marks. There appears to be a small plate missing just behind the trigger guard. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling.
