9/13/23 - This is a 10 Gauge Hammer Shotgun, often referred to as "the Trap Gun", made by the world famous W.W. Greener of England, manufactured in 1888 and featuring a 30" barrel. Known for their high quality fit and finish shotguns, W.W. Greener also designed the “Greener Crossbolt'' used by makers around the world. The gun is all matching, with the serial number stamped on the barrels, receiver, trigger guard, and forend. The metal has retained about half of its original finish, with patina and signs of oxidation throughout, but this is likely age-related. The receiver, trigger guard, hammers, and screws have ornate engravings throughout, which are still perfectly crisp. Stunning Damascus patterns on the barrels are still sharp and detailed under the patina. The barrel has the serial number stamped, as well as multiple proofs. Even the locking lugs under the barrel are finely engraved. The stock is in excellent condition, with minimal handling marks or damage. The forend is also in great condition, with fine checkering. The bore is very shiny but there is speckling throughout.
