4/24/20 - This is a fairly scarce, all original and early WW1 era model 1903 bayonet with the original scabbard and hanger. The blade is marked "S A" for Springfield armory with a flaming bomb. The reverse is marked US 59553. The blade is overall in great condition with minor oxidation and no signs of sharpening. The wood handle is excellent with only one very minor scuff. The stretched brown leather is excellent as well, but the exterior layer is splitting at the seam on the toe of the scabbard - see photos. This is a stitching issue and not a leather issue. Otherwise this piece has no major flaws.
