3/25/22 - This is a Springfield Krag Model 1896 issued to the US military in 1898, making this an antique. The gun is fully functional, is very faintly dated 1898 on the left side of the stock, has the proper military inspection stamp, and has a "P" proof on the wrist. Overall, the gun is in fair condition. On the receiver, there is thinning, light brown patina, and a few textured scratches. Small spots of discoloration on the left side plate and magazine. There is spotty oxidation along the barrel. An area of minor thinning on the barrel and minor wear around the muzzle. Brown patina on both barrel bands and on the trigger guard. Spotty oxidation on the butt plate. There are scratches here and there on the stock, most noticeable on the left side of the but stock. There is a noticeable chip in the wood on the left side where the receiver meets the stock. The rifling in the bore is worn with spotty oxidation throughout.
